Aziz Ansari is an actor/standup comedian based in Los Angeles. He created and starred in the hit MTV sketch comedy show "Human Giant." He's also appeared on HBO's "Flight of the Conchords" as a racist fruit vendor. This was a reportedly a difficult role as he is not racist in real life. In 2009, he will appear in the new spinoff of "The Office" on NBC with Amy Poehler.
In the film world, Aziz recently began production on the new Judd Apatow film Funny People with Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, and Jonah Hill. He recently completed roles in the upcoming films Observe and Report with Seth Rogen and I Love You, Man with Paul Rudd. He unfortunately was not in The Dark Knight but enjoyed the film nonetheless.
As a standup, he's toured with the "Comedians of Comedy" and was also once listed as the "Hot Standup" on Rolling Stone's Annual "Hot List." He also won the Jury Award for Best Standup at the HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen in 2006.
